still not sure how they get away with making models that close to GW models without them getting killed to death by GW attack lawyers.

It's sweet though

Because they're not infringing on any copyright.

Becasue GW done own the rights to everything in the world thats why.

GW overstep the mark with their IP all the time, and people bow to them because they believe them to be right "because its a big company, they must be right" when most of the time tey're just bullying people.

Take Cars, they are the best example, there are rovers that looks like jags, and jags that look like aston martins, none of these companies has anything to do with each other, they design cars that look similar because they are popular.
As long as they dont break any laws like copying a patented part, then everything is fine.
Also look at car customisation, there are litterally thousands of companies out there that make alloy wheels, spoilers, body kits, reproduction parts etc for cars, most of which will be unoffical and they get left alone.

GW have the monopoly on their kind of product, and they want to keep it, so they prey on people's ignorance to keep it that way, and its pretty dispicable of them.

The fact is it might look like a Bloodletter of Khorne but a Bloodletter looks a lot like how many people interpret a Demon (or Daemon). It's called a Daemon Champion, two words that GW don't own. Much like the have a Chaos Dwarf, a Dark Elf, an Orc etc. They don't infringe on any of GWs copyrights and most of the fantasy stuff that GW have draws upon common fantasy archetypes so it's only if it's dedicated to the god Khorne etc that it becomes an infringement.

I would rather give up the hobby than start playing at GW stores

i mean things like GT they can get picky there.

I have had some great games at GW. Mainly the carlisle store, they have a big gaming room and a gaming club with a good attendance and good organisation.

And at the Northumbrian adventurers guild you get a massive gaming room, with excellent attendance, good organisation (well, sometimes :P),

and you get the added bonus that you dont have to JUST play Games workshop games, or use solely games workshop produced figures....

I wonder if there's a law of some sort that prevents companies from patenting monsters of that sort so that, should one turn up looking like a GW figure, it doesn't get sued :P

thats true thats why im a member what im saying is that there is nothing wrong with GW to play at espically there gaming nights. Metro isnt great as its out of the way with few regular gamers. Newcastle main is better.

I like everything on that model except the stance, just a little static for my liking. Regarding there IP there is a case with ultraforge and there "Greater Plaguedemon" which GW forced them to pull cos it looked a little similar there FW great unclean one but was half the price, don't know how much of that is IP law or as Killcrazy says just plain bullying.
